Three years ago, I started at thread about 55+ Communities in Delaware that is still active and filled with some of the best available information on the topic. It has over 1,600 posts and a number of contributors who have shared their experiences about the process of finding the right community.

The thread is available at https://www.city-data.com/forum/delaw...mmunities.html

Wow thats pretty cool that there is a thread in a state forum that is over 1,600 posts. I always thought state threads are frequented much.

My largest thread was titled:

Pet Peeve: Why do many US parents give their children unconventional names?

This thread has 267 total replies and was started on 9/22/09. It ran its course after only a few weeks but was recently revived last week until 7/16/10.

I actually enjoyed the dialogue in this particular thread even though I rarely venture into the Parenting Forum (it was moved from another Forum).

Just out of curiosity I went to go take a look at your thread and decided to look at what was the last post, and I found it shocking enough and simple enough to respond to, so consider your thread revived.

This is my largest thread to date. It has 498 posts, read 10,441 times. It's in the Christianity sub-forum and it's a really pleasant thread compared to all the other Christianity threads, which almost always turn into heated debates. Last post was 5/29/10...but it gets resurrected on occasion.

On the GAMES forum, we have a new game starting anew when the threads reach 3,000 posts - as per Administrator or on the first of the month. We have one thread "Last Person - 49,000 posts" and now working on "Last Person 290,000 posts" We did complete the 49,000 thread, although broken up in separated threads.

There is a thread in ATF regarding this subject.

[quote=JohKnip;15227492]So just curious, to everyone here who starts threads (which is most posters) what is the current post total in the largest thread you have started? Also is the thread currently dead (no one has posted in it in a while / its not on the first page) or alive (has been posted in within the past 3 days / is on the first page)?

My largest thread started is "Going Off Grid in East Tennessee" It has 2081 replies, 822,950 views, and is 209 pages long. It is still alive and on the first page.

There are many threads on CD that are much bigger and longer like Karla's QOD, Peeves, My Good News, What's For Dinner, Proverb of the Day, and the Chat threads....if they were continuous threads.
