Today's Question(s):

When you buy something that comes with an instruction manual, do you:

Read the entire manual?
Have someone else read it,then tell you how to use the item?
Muddle your way through expanding your vocabulary?
Call the customer service line have them explain?
Go back and bribe the nice salesperson at the store with food or goodies so they will show you how?

It really depends on how complicated the object is to use, how complex the manual is, and whether or not the manual was written by a native English speaker, or at least someone who got some translating assistance. Also, if a family member is already an expert at whatever it is, I'll usually seek assistance there rather than trying to plod through the manual.

Bonus Question:
in honor of Tape Measure Day

How many tape measures do you have in your home?

Oh, gosh, between sewing tape measures and the construction variety, I'm guessing six to eight.

How many rulers?

Maybe one or two.

Are they easy to find or does it involve a spoor?

Well, if I was the last person to use it, they're usually easy to find. If the spouse was the last person who handled it, all bets are off!

Last thing you used one for?

We measured our garage to see if the car we were considering purchasing would fit with our other car. We have a tandem garage (one car parks behind the other), and it is just baaaaaarely long enough for two vehicles, as long as one of them is pretty small.

Extra Credit Question:

Is there one food you could eat everyday and not get tired of?

Do beverages count? If so, then my answer is coffee!

Is there one food you do have every day?

Coffee!

Just for Fun :

Some more what do you call its:
Sofa, couch or ____?
Grew up calling this a couch, then started working in the home furnishings industry and switched to using the word sofa instead.
Bag, sack or _____? Usually bag, unless we're discussing a large burlap receptacle that would be appropriate for transporting large quantities of potatoes or flour.
Purse, pocketbook or ____? Purse.
Cabinets or cupboards or _____? To a large extent, I use the two terms interchangeably, although I'm likelier to call the things in our kitchen that hold dishes cupboards and the larger things in the basement that hold bigger objects cabinets.
Dinner or supper or _____? If it's just my spouse and me concluding our day with a small meal together, it's supper. If it's a big gathering, and especially if a holiday celebration is involved, it's dinner.
Refrigerator, fridge or icebox? Usually refrigerator, sometimes fridge.

Frigedair, supper-dinner, bag, purse, and cabinets are the terminology I use for the most part unless I used something else. Purple hull peas or some form of variety of dried beans I could eat everyday. I don't know if I have one particular food everyday. I guess some days I do, but it varies. Yes I have rulers and tape measures though I am not sure how many. If I needed to find one or the other I could lay my hands on either quickly without it being a location project. When I buy something with instructions I read the instructions then call someone to explain if necessary. Happy Good Wednesday aLLyaLL. This week is moving fast...

Karla, when did you modify your name??? I am slow to these things, just curious. LOL
Today's Question(s):
When you buy something that comes with an instruction manual, do you:
Read the entire manual ? ROTFLMAO!!!
Have someone else read it,then tell you how to use the item? NO
Muddle your way through expanding your vocabulary ? This one
Call the customer service line have them explain ? NO
Go back and bribe the nice salesperson at the store with food or goodies so they will show you how ? Nope
I will seek out whatever I need to know in the manual after trying to figure it out on my own.
Bonus Question:
in honor of Tape Measure Day
How many tape measures do you have in your home ? Several, don't ask where they are though....cause organization is not my style.
How many rulers ? Same....not sure
Are they easy to find or does it involve a spoor ?
Last thing you used one for ?

Extra Credit Question:
Is there one food you could eat everyday and not get tired of ? Probably pizza..not good to like it so much...and it's easy
Is there one food you do have every day ? no
Just for Fun :
Some more what do you call its:
Sofa, couch or - Both....not sure why, but I do use both
Bag, sack or ....ummmm...bag I guess..are we talking groceries?
Purse, pocketbook or ...both again
Cabinets or cupboards or
Dinner or supper ...this is the third time this question has come up in the past 24 hours for me.....had a discussion at work about it yesterday. I call the final meal of the day both ...prefer dinner cause I "like" the term better. However, my husband calls it supper..and will not give an inch. If I say "what do you want for dinner" he will respond, I already had dinner earlier. I got to talking with the ladies at work just yesterday and one of them offered clarification that it can be referred to as either...no doubt, but if you have a big meal earlier in the day you have "dinner" and then a smaller "supper." If you have a smaller mid day meal..."lunch", then you may have your larger meal later in the day...thus making in dinner. So, dinner is the largest meal of the day. This is just one possible way of determining. So, last night I explained this to my husband and went on a "rant"...yes a FULL RANT. Cause I tire of him giving me the same response when I say "dinner" and he redirects me to the fact that he had "dinner" already. I gave him the above explanation, discussed the importance of growing in his ability to respond to various terms and that he knows EXACTLY what I am referring to when I ask him what he wants to eat. I guess I was cranky enough, and firm enough in my statement....ONE OF THOSE DAYS...he agreed to call it dinner, explaining how it became so instilled in his mind that it is called supper. I told him I've called it supper before too...but is important to not be so rigid and to understand why others call it dinner.

Refrigerator, fridge or icebox ?

I'm writing without my glasses this morning, so forgive any typos!

Today's Question(s):

When you buy something that comes with an instruction manual, do you:

Read the entire manual ? Haha. I am anal about instruction manuals! I read the entire thing, cover to cover, and put stickies on the pages that have something I think I might need to find quickly in the future. When I buy a new car, I sit up half the night, if necessary, to read the entire manual.
Have someone else read it,then tell you how to use the item?
Muddle your way through expanding your vocabulary ?
Call the customer service line have them explain ?
Go back and bribe the nice salesperson at the store with food or goodies so they will show you how ?

in honor of Tape Measure Day
How many tape measures do you have in your home ? One

How many rulers ? One or two
Are they easy to find or does it involve a spoor ? One is easy to find.
Last thing you used one for ? A poster for a church bake sale

Is there one food you could eat everyday and not get tired of ? CHOCOLATE
Is there one food you do have every day ? I eat a small amount of chocolate almost every day at work.

Some more what do you call its:
Sofa, couch or ____? I use both terms.
Bag, sack or _____? Bag
Purse, pocketbook or ____? Purse
Cabinets or cupboards or _____? Cabinets
Dinner or supper or _____ ? I use both terms.
Refrigerator, fridge or icebox ? Usually fridge
