My husband and I are building in Clermont, but we have friends who are also considering a move to the area. I currently do not live in the area yet, so I'm not totally familiar with it. What is Skyridge Valley neighborhood like. Is it a good neighborhood for a young family with a small child?

It would probably not be my first choice. I can't quite put my finger on why, but I just don't get the warm fuzzies from that neighborhood. Just my opinion, and I might be very wrong.

In case you missed it in a search (keep reading down past the one negative comment towards the end of the thread).

There are some real bargains to be had in Skyridge Valley right now (I get an e-mail update from a real estate company because we thought we were going to move back to FL).

That old post about Minneola Elem was true at that time but since then the school has been totally re-built and another new elementary (Grassy Lake Elem) has opened nearby. The school crowding issue has been fixed. (but as far as total enrollment #'s, some might consider these two to be "big" elementary schools if you are coming from a town where schools are only 300 students k-5).

Go on Google Earth and type in the address of 380 Sky Valley Street, Clermont, FL 347141. Click on street view and you can see Skyridge like you are walking around the neighborhood. That is a current listing in SV for $147,500. 4 bed/ 2 bath, 2,562 SF. Built in 2004. Many neighborhoods in Clermont have very small lots, so there won't be much room for kids to play in the yard. (and the days of having kids play safely in the front yard/ street are long gone)
