That's the beauty of mco. Why fly a ****ty legacy carrier with unhappy staff when my bags fly for free with the chipper southwest crew? Very few other cities have the abundance of these flights except for maybe Vegas

There are additional random directs out of sanford on allegiant and some other airlines as well
I won't fly WN for a number of reasons.

First, their fares are usually not the lowest. I don't want to subsidize people who can't figure out how to pack like a human when I am quite able to pack for a month in a carry on.

Second, the stupid game they play as far as seats. i don't want to pay extra or have to be by my computer at a specific minute in time to check in and get a place in line that will guarantee me an aisle seat near the front.

Third, no first class.

I'd also add too many freaking kids.

I live in Clermont. I can get to TPA in about the same time it takes to get to Sanford.

There are Nonstops MCO to Oslo , Copenhagen and LGW on Norwegian. They are are cheap as $180. I have taken the MCO Copenhagen one.

But you can't say those flights aren't available. At the end of the day, they are. You're just a picky flyer. I mean, an airport can't have everything!

Yup, I've flown them out of Ft. Lauderdale. I'm glad to see that they have expanded to Orlando.

annerk this post proves that the statement you made was false and was simply an expression of your personal opinion and personal decision to not fly on the airlines that offer non-stop routes around the country from MCO.. And besides, WN is not the only airline available, there are other airlines that fly non-stop to the many destinations that you claim Orlando supposedly does not have service to, what about those airlines? Do you not like those either and instead choose to state that they "do not exist"?

Yea Orlando has an amazing amount of nonstop flights with a growing international roster as they are working on reaching cities in Asia like Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai. I believe Disney does help a little but also Orlando itself is growing into a destination city for many looking for second homes and also business investment as it does get a lot of that.

There are no daily scheduled direct flights on any airline from MCO to around 25% of the 100 largest cities in the US. For being the 13th busiest airport in the country, it has very limited direct flights. Newark handles slightly less passengers and has about double the places you can fly to non-stop, including many international destinations.

They have business class which will get you on the plane first with a complimentary alcoholic beverage.

1) it's silly to make a comparison to a legacy carrier based on baggage fees when you are going to have to connect rather than go non-stop. Personally, I'll pay $$$ more to go non-stop.

2) your original statements were flat out wrong since you only look at mco from your own point of view, rather than an objective one. There are literally tens of destinations non-stop out of Orlando. If you don't like open seating on southwest (which isn't really an issue if you fly business class since you get on the plane first) jblu is another option.

3) too many kids are seen on many flights to Orlando, not just the wn/jblu ones. Part of living in Orlando

On legacy carriers. Plus you'd have to live in ny/nj. No thx.

You have to wonder though, the fact that you have to compare mco to one of the nyc airports shows you how awesome it is for a city of this size.

My cousin lives in San Antonio, a top ten city by population, and he detests not having an airport like mco in terms of non stops available

Given the size of Orlando, I'm flat out amazed for what it offers. We can't complain too much.
