Hope this is the right board for the New Smyrna beach area.
My wife and 3 kids, ages 7,6,4 are coming with me to New Smyrna July 14th-20th.
Never been to the exact area, but made a Disney trip in 2012.

Want some advice on local attractions or advice that would help my family really enjoy our time there.
Planning alot of beach and relaxation/pool time but also want explore a little. Really would like a local's perspective.
Looks like Disney is only about an hour away, so also any advice on good prices for Disney/Universal would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, this board has been real helpful in the past!

Check out the Ponce Inlet lighthouse and the Mote Marine Center. They have a nice touch tank and turtle rescue facility that your kids should really enjoy. Read the reviews online.

Make sure you visit Flagler Ave. It has a walkable street with shops, dining, bars, etc. Make sure you go to Breakers on the beach for a burger. Their prices are very reasonable and they were voted best burger in Orlando. There is free parking there right on the beach with bathrooms and showers. You can go to jetty park and rent jet skiis. Some fun restaurants are Down the Hatch, Flip flops and Inlet Harbor and on the weekends they have live entertainment. Get some good ice cream at Frozen Gold.

This dolphin cruise is great. $20 per person and it even includes dinner: Dolphin View Seafood Restaurant. New Smyrna Beach Fl

Daytona is only 20 min away and you can visit the boardwalk with rides, Oceanwalk Shoppes, splash park, bandshell with a live band on Sat nights, waterpark, speedway, mini golf, flea market and more.

Have fun.....

Thanks Beckycat and idr591. I will be sure to add those places to the list and do a little research on them.
Any must see places for my young children while we are in the area?

Considering the ages of your kids, and if you are willing to travel a little over an hour, Orlando has a LOT of options. Legoland, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Universal, Sea World, and a ton of waterparks.

I would put Magic Kingdom on the top of the list if your kids haven't been. It's expensive but something you have to do at least once.

The area was then only sparsely populated, due to the frequent raids by Seminole Indians. During the Civil War in the 1860s the still-standing was shelled by Union gunboats. In 1887, the Town of New Smyrna was incorporated, with a population of 150. and this beach is beautiful beach in Florida . and you can seen this place spend time and take enjoy .

Any water rides or open to the public fee swimming pools local to 32168. Enjoy the beach but need a change from the usual sand and surf atmosphere?

This is the closest water park to you, as far as I know: Daytona Lagoon - Daytona Beach's Most Exciting Family Fun Center and Waterpark!

I cannot comment on public pools.
