Our family will be relocating to the Orlando Area in July. I will be working on W Sand Lake Road off of I4. We have 4 children ranging from 1 year - 12 years. Looking for great schools, elementary - High school. 400k-500K is our budget for housing. What area would you recommend that is family friendly, good schools and no more then a 30 minute commute? I'm not that familiar with the Orlando traffic, so I'm not sure what is realistic. I've seen posts on Oviedo, Windermere, Lake Mary, etc.. but could use some recommendations. Thanks!

This is an easy one! Dr Phillips or Windermere! Both have great schools, very safe and desirable for value purposes. If you buy in Windermere make sure the high school is Olympia though. My favorite area in Orlando is Dr. Phillips and your work sounds like it is right there.

Yeah Dr Phillips either way it probably did not matter where you were working people on here would recommend Dr Phillips. It seems that after all of the recommendations that there would even be homes still available.

I would strongly agree with Dr. Phillips and Windermere. The only other areas that meet your criteria would be Downtown South, Conway/Belle Isle and possibly Lake Nona but you would be stretching that 30 min commute.

Sean, there's been a lot of people asking for neighborhood recommendations in the southwest area. For someone with a good budget, looking for a safe area with good schools, Dr. Phillips and Windermere can't be beat.

Another vote for Dr. Phillips or Windermere. You could also look around the Winter Garden Village area--great schools and a lot of buying power, yet still less than a 30 minute commute.

Dr Phillips >> Windermere. Shorter commute for you and more going on IMO
