To all,

Coming down this weekend for my daughters birthday, she wanted to celebrate in Universal studios so we are doing the whole Hard Rock/attractions deal. Just wanted to know if it is busy/packed like in July/June? Also how has the weather been holding up? Thanks all,

This weekend should be okay. Weather looks pretty good, low 80's during the day. Shouldn't be too busy since you're still a week ahead of most springs breaks for Easter. Just remember that Mardi Gras is happening at Universal Studios and I think this Saturday is Match Box 20 which will probably bring in a pretty good crowd. I went to Island of Adventure last weekend and it was not too bad but did not get to Universal to avoid the Mardi Gras crowd.

It's been chillyish, but is really lovely today. We're supposed to have a nice week.

I don't know about park crowds and hotels, sorry.

i just got back from 8 days at Universal. March 9 to 17. We stayed at the Portofino, which is great for doing Universal. it only rained one morning, but we did harry Potter anyway. Temps were between 44 and 88. In early mornings, the park staff were wearing mittens. We were in shorts.

We ate at Bubba Gumps ( poor ) at hard Rock ( excellent) at Margarittaville ( very good) and Momma dellas ( excellent) Oh, and we had breakfast at the three brooomsticks ( good).

Generally the food inside the parks is horrendous and the ATM's weren't working. Do the park and eat at City walk.

The concert is matchbox twenty and Owl City, my son was bummed we would miss it, as he loves owl City and I love Rob Thomas.

We did not even go to Disney. next time we are staying at Grand Cypress.

Thanks for the reply all,

Just got back last night from 4 days at the Hard Rock Hotel for my Daughters birthday. Had a great time, park was not as packed as it would be in the summer which was pleasent. Weather was perfect reaching 80's in the afternoon with my family hitting the pool all weekend!. Although we have been to florida several times throughout the years, this is our first Resort style vacation in Florida and I must say we had a blast!. We also had plans last year to try and make a move down to florida but it has not been forthcoming, Mainly the difference in pay. This recent visit however rekindled that flame, as we drove by Dr. Philips and Windermere on a nice evening on Saturday, my wife and I can definitly imagine ourselves getting old there. Anywho, thanks again for the inputs!!
