So what exactly is this building right off I-4 near Longwood? From looking at the base of it when driving by, it looks deserted.

It's the Majesty Building which is being "constructed" by Superchannel 55, which has vowed to take on 0 debt for the entire building. As such, the "construction" of the building has been at a snail's pace and on and off again at best. Years ago before the glass was on, it was even worse, just the shell of a building staring at us on I4. I hope it gets completed soon, just for sake of visual appeal.

I think its technically located in Alt Springs, but yes that's what it's called

The City of Altamonte Springs is advised regularly of the progress of the construction efforts and Bowers said the same contractors and architects have been working on the project since its inception. He also informed me that construction has never been interrupted and that they are currently installing retaining walls under the structure for the parking facilities. The target date of completion is between April and October of 2008.

Makes me wonder if the building is even sound.. it's been under construction since, what- the late 90's? Early 2000's? I can't imagine being exposed to the elements for a decade is any good for an incomplete structure.

Even once it is done, it is an eyesore. Why didn't they just build it in downtown Orlando where it would "fit in" more. I use the term "fit in" loosely given the building's look.

I'm not sure why a glass skyscraper is being called an eyesore other than it's not finished at the base and we're embarrassed about that. Albeit a little dated once finished, from shots where you can't see the base, it doesn't look that bad as part of the Altamonte Springs "skyline."

Have they been fined by the city/county yet? That has to be a code violation somewhere. The permitting process/records must be a mess on that building.

That thing is hideous. It looks like a giant a/c duct. I sure hope I live to see that implosion.

It got that name long before the glass was up. It sat as a shell for many a year.

I'm afraid the name will stick. That's the 1st thing that came to my mind when I saw the picture.
