I'm moving downtown next week. The only issue I have is my complex only has 10 parking spaces and they are all leased out. Where can a person park that isn't incredibly expensive downtown? It will cost me about $25 a week to park on the street plus I will have to go out to the meter every hour to three hours on my days off. If that's the cheapest I can find I'll live with the hour to three hour time frame it's just a pain since I want to sleep in on my days off.

Depending on where you live downtown, you can likely find free street parking (although it may involving walking several blocks to your place). Also, there are lots and such that offer daily rates.

Where in downtown are you moving?

East Church between Rosalind and Lake. I just need someplace to park Saturdays and Mondays when I'm off. I know the meters in front of the apartments are free Sunday.

Yes, you can find free street parking around there. As I said, you may just have to walk 3 or 6 blocks. But it is there.

Thanks!!! I was talking to my boyfriend and I've only been thinking about going deeper into the business district instead of going towards Thornton park. We are getting me Mace since come winter I'll be leaving at or just before sunrise.

Do you work downtown? If you only need you car on weekends, just park in Thornton Park or on the north side of the lake in Eola Heights. Some of the nerdy neighbors might report your car as an abandoned vehicle if you leave it there for 3+ days without moving it, but it is public parking so they shouldn't be able to ticket or tow you - they might just call you.

Anyway - too bad zip car isn't here yet - probably wouldn't even need the car in the first place if you work downtown too.

Regrettably I work in Windermere Tuesday through Friday. If I worked downtown I would sell my car but I'm not biking 20 miles each way to work every day lol.I'm going to try snd park on Eola Dr between Church and South. It's only a couple blocks from the apartment and I like walking. Thanks everyone. Now to find a vet that isn't in Clermont :/
