My "new" husband and I are relocating to Lake Mary/Sanford area next month. We've been researching apartments in those areas and trying to settle on something that is affordable, safe and reasonably close to work (in Lake Mary). Frankly, while some of the apartment complexes appear attractive, their reviews are a little scary. Some of the better reviews on places in Sanford (Plantation Lakes and Arbor Lakes) are closer to Lake Mary, so we'll be looking into them. We're a young couple (25-27), with a Yorkie, hoping for some advice on what areas to avoid. If anyone out there can offer some, we'd appreciate it very much.

Check Seville on the Green in Winter Springs. It's about 10-15 minutes from Lake Mary. I have no affiliation, I just used to live there. Nice neighborhood and a nice apartment community. Seville on the Green Apartments for Rent in Winter Springs, FL - UDR

I just relocated back to NY from Fl. I lived in Arbor Lakes and it was a decent complex. Friendly staff and great neighbors. Close to everything and still on the out-skirts of Sanford. I lived in a two bed two bath fireplace and had a two car garage attached. It was still vacant as of last week. The townhouse is privately owned and if you would like I could give you the landlords phone number. I've heard that Plantation Lakes was loaded with termites.

Default Arbor Lakes

Thanks, I tried Arbor Lakes this morning and they have no 1BR units available. I understand Plantation Lakes is under new management (Greystar), but will keep looking. Winter Springs seems like an easy drive and is a definite possibility.

Look on craigslist. They have listings. The Preserve at Lake Mary is nice. How much do you want to spend?
