Going to be spending some time in Orlando and want to get some recommendations on different types of restaurants. I plan on going to Christini's one night, perhaps Capital Grille another night. I am not dead-set on Capital Grille though.

So, what is your favorite steak place?

How about sushi/Japanese? I used to enjoy Rangetsu, especially the sushi, but they have closed. I also like Taverna Opa so I think I'll go there one night.

What else? Casual, nice places. I don't need fine dining, so I am looking for more casual, laid back, etc.

What about BYO? I have a few friends who really like going to different BYO's and they will be in town for about a week.

What are your favorite BYO's? Thank you in advance.

A popular sushi place on restaurant row is Amura- I've heard good things, but it is pricey.

One of my favorite restaurants is Press 101, located a few doors down from Christini's. It's upscale casual, great for lunch. The sandwiches are to die for- and run about $9. (Mango Chicken and Turkey and Brie are wonderful!)

Another area favorite is Seasons 52, which has a beautiful interior and some great food, and not terribly expensive even for dinner.

If you want to get off the beaten path, Yellow Dog Eats is an eclectic little restaurant in Windermere (around 10 minutes from Restaurant Row) that is rated #1 on trip advisor. It's a quirky, neighborhood place that doesn't feel near as stiff as the Sand Lake Road ones can.

Thank you. All sound very good. My lunches are pretty well covered with some luncheon meetings, activities, etc. -- so I am really only looking for dinner.

Is Press 101 open for dinner? Thanks again.

Yes, not particularly late though. The wine bar and live music go on until 10PM most nights though. I'm not sure when they stop serving food but I've definitely been there for dinner

Thanks again.

Any BYO's? Do a lot of places allow you to bring a bottle and charge a corkage fee?

I wouldn't go to Capital Grille, as you can find them all over the country. I've heard good things about Amura, but have yet to go. I really like the Ravenous Pig and Luma on Park, both in Winter Park. The chef's table in winter garden is nice experience as well. Happy dining!

You can BYOB to most places. Linda's La Cantina has good steak and a low corkage fee--unfortunately the stemware there is Libby. You would not be at all out of place there in nice jeans or business casual.

Luma is another good choice, I'd suggest bringing a bottle and asking the sommelier to suggest something to purchase, they often waive corkage on one bottle for each one purchased.

Vines on Sand Lake is another good choice that allows BYOB, as does Ocean Prime. (A chain but with limited locations.)

Default where is restaurant row?

a couple of you mentioned Restaurant row. I am up in Lake Mary/Heathrow and would like to hear more about RR. Are they all chains or are there any stand alone restaurants there?

Great information here -- thank you very much again!

Where exactly is restaurant row? Is it part of a complex, section of Orlando, etc.? Thanks.
