I need some advice

We currently live in West Palm Beach - In a condo 15th floor overlooking the ICW and the Ocean. We rent because we knew this day maybe coming soon.

My wife's company wants to move her Orlando, they want her to run a store in the Florida Mall. Its a very nice promotion, but she is use to being in a mall like the Mall of Millenia so I am not sure she would be happy in the FL Mall.

They have told her don't buy a home because we wouldn't be there long. As in two years.

We would miss the ocean and we are a part of a boat club with access to yachts and boats pretty much anytime we want. We don't have any kids so schools aren't important.

We are looking for something close to the fl mall, south of the city, we want a decent size home 2000 sq feet, pool etc, budget of around 2,000 a month, maybe more for the right home, gated community would be nice since that is what we are use to right now.

My job will transfer me, no big deal, and I actually have room for growth in Orlando so it could be a win/win for both of us.

I keep hearing about crime in Orlando, but we live in the most patrolled areas in FL down here in WPB so crime is always a worry but you learn how to avoid it.

So I need some thoughts.

Thanks

West Palm Beach to me in my head is Dangerous LOL so to see someone mention crime it pretty much puzzles me. Well let me give you the rundown.

We dont have an ocean or a massave body of water with condos to look over. Sorry. Lake Eola is not even close to what the view is in South Florida, I know

But The Florida Mall area is SOuth Of Oak Ridge area which is a bit sketchy so that is where Crime would factor in, but Florida Malls near by neighbor Mellinia Mall is no Safe Harbor either. So Just get the crime thing out of your head, I would not recommend any of the crime areas to you. Now because you said you wanted to be relitively close to Florida Mall I'm suggesting Hunters Creek, Williamsburg, and South Orange County South of the 528 and north of the 417. In between that pocket(Does Not Have an Official name) but they have beautiful neighborhoods for renting, not far from Florida Mall at all and very rare on crime. Not that the area is completely safe, but there is not a bunch of drugs and or other crime bull**** in that area. So that may be an option, as well as the Turkey Lake, DP area. EXTREMLY nice, not terribly far but again you should give a distance as too how far and we can help you more.

BTW Florida Mall is the largest and busiest mall in Orlando, lots of tourist, and locals, so it should be rather easy to cope with. Its not by any means a cheap strip mall or comes in second to Mellinia, so I don't think she should worry too much, its a great mall in a decent area.

I'd recommend Dr. Phillips. It's beautiful, clean, safe... all that good stuff. Lots of gated communities around. Not too far from Florida Mall, either.

Thanks for the info. On the crime thing, I know West Palm is dangerous that is why said we lived in one of the most patrolled areas in Fl - When we first moved here I went down a couple of roads that I should have never gone down, I learned quick when the cops pulling me over asking if I was lost and escorted me out of the area.

Your Welcome. South orlando is heavily patrolled by Orange County Sheriff. There are a few roads not to go down here as well. Any of The Numberes Streets Off Of ObT, Rio Grand, Texas Ave, just to name a few.
