Looks like we had Medford-style temperatures across the valley and down the gorge.

It got up near 110 in Roseburg, hit 108 in Cascade Locks, Corvallis, and Milwaukee, 107 in Salem, and 106 in Eugene, Portland, Vancouver, among other areas. Vancouver broke its all-time high temperature record of 105 set in 1942.

We'll see how hot it gets tomorrow...

Well, it's 95 in Bend and 92 here, north of Klamath Falls, so it's not ALL record heat.

Loving the heavy marine layer fog that lingers in the mornings here along the Coast until the bright direct sun burns it away around 11 am and then we're able to open the windows to allow our house to warm up.

Besides swimming, how are you people (since most of you have no air conditioners) cooling off?

I ground up some frozen blueberries and ice cubes made of milk into an icy sludge, and drank it throughout the day.

I have a daylight basement that was quite comfy with a fan going. That and some homemade iced tea lemonade...

We sit in the air conditioning while I daydream about moving to the coast. Then I think about what people say about the winters there and start daydreaming about putting a pool. Then my DH tells me to forget about it so I daydream about him falling into a volcano.

ExNooYawk-you are a hoot!

So what is the humidity like when the temps ramp up like that? It is hot here on the east coast, too, and HUMID! ugh!
