Data storage doesn't require people. Don't bother looking at Prineville or The Dalles because of their ' server farms'.

Socially Eugene would be a good choice BUT UoO spits out software majors by the hundreds, all of them want to stay 'home'. If the op can find a job fantastic but the chances of finding a job and a singles scene in Portland are much greater.

If true it may be because there is a high representation of gay males who work in the theaters.

Not true: https://aidsvu.org/state/oregon/

Statistics are kept by county not city. But Multnomah Co. has almost 4x the rate of Jackson Co.
