]I’m from Los Angeles and considering moving to Grants Pass/Medford area but my situation dictates that I would need to rent. How difficult is it to rent up there? Is a great credit report a must? Mine is so-so due to an illness a couple of years ago that wiped me out financially so I’m trying to rebuild it but meanwhile I have to find a place to live. Is that a deal breaker for most landlords in the area? Is there anything I need to know about renting in this area of Oregon?

Thanks for any input anyone can offer.

There are plenty of rentals. Google Medford Daily Tribune or go onto Craigslist for Medford. As far as your credit is concerned, people here generally have a lot less money than folks in L.A., so maybe it would be a bit easier for you if you have less than stellar credit. But, landlords are landlords and have their income to protect, too.
