I think Corvallis has a excellent Police force. The only reason you would have a problem with the Police is if you are a criminal or a troublemaker. I few years ago there was a big problem with one officer. (Officer Cox) who was giving out DUII's to people that where not drunk but he is long gone now. Don't break the law, stay out of trouble and you can find the Corvallis police very friendly.

Never had an issue with them. In fact, I don't think I've ever had any interaction with them (unless you can count getting passed by the guy in the SUV who thinks being a cop means he doesn't have to even approximately obey speed limits).

I've had a recent run in with Sheriff's Deputies where 3 of them lied. No problems with
CPD.

Isn't it funny how the miscreants always blame the law for their issues?

Well to be fair, crooked cops are not unknown. But to plaster an entire department that way would be unfair.

On the other hand, as a cop, when all you deal with all day are criminals, everyone starts to look like a criminal.

To IAMSCOTT..I think they are lazy and the district attorney is also. I am not a criminal and in fact have worked in the legal field for over 20 years. I dont think crooked though.

Why do you think they are lazy. What is it you think they should be doing besides busting more illegals, pot heads, and meth addicts?

If you want to see corruption in a police force come to Africa.. I laugh about what people think is corruption in this country with the police force. If a cop so much as scratches you he will have to write a long report about it and, if he did anything that wasn't sanctioned or against protocol, you can bet he may be dealing with legal repercussions. I think police in this country have a tough job. They deal with some o the worst elements and have some of the greatest restrictions placed on them. It wasn't uncommon for police in Ghana, West Africa to beat a person silly with clubs if a person gave them attitude.

Try having cops demand bribe money, food and water, as well as point an AK-47 next to your face, while doing it. You want to see a crooked police force??

Anyhow.. Know your rights, but do be so quick to give lip to a cop without understanding his position.

I will say the Portland Police force has its share of crooked cops and I have dealt with some personally. However, they are still honorable in my eyes and undergo a lot of risks. Anyhow, what I am calling "Crooked" here, in reality, is quite silly, compared with most cops around the globe.
