I usually stick to vegetarian places and I like Native Foods in AV. Try their Chicken Run Ranch Burger or Rockin' Moroccan. Actually, I have never had a bad dish at this place. Other Aliso Viejo restaurants that get a thumbs up are:

The Neighborhood Cup-Coffee, sandwiches and salads
Panini Café-Mediterranean
Inka Mama’s-Peruvian
Thai Bite
Cosmo's Italian Kitchen
Daphnes Greek Cafe

Many of these places have indoor/outdoor seating.

NaplesRes,
Have you been to the Aliso Viejo/Laguna Niguel area recently? They are actually not very “inland OC” and are more aptly described as being near-coastal cities. Also, there are good eateries in the area.

By the way, Aliso Viejo borders Laguna Beach on one side, and part of AV (Audubon Neighborhood) falls within the Laguna Beach School District. The beach can be reached in about ten minutes from most AV communities.

The climate in AV also differs from that of “inland OC” areas such as Ladera Ranch or Rancho Santa Margarita.
