The zoo.

Pick one of the exhibits (the Leid, the Desert Dome, the Aquiarium, whatever. And enjoy the heck out of a world class experience.

You will not have time to see the zoo in Omaha as it is rather large. Fours hours is not enough time to really enjoy it. If it is going to be a short stop you might want to take the time to stop at the SAC Museum that is right off I-80 between Omaha and Lincoln. You will be next to Mahoney State Park where you can let your dog run for a bit as well. They also have a nice place where you can have a meal as well right on Mahoney State Park. Plus you will get a good view looking over the Platte River at Mahoney State Park.

You could take your child for a horse-drawn carriage ride in the Old Market. You may have to leave the dog in the car, though.

If its early october maybe try Scary Acres Just west of Omaha off I-80. (gretna exit I believe) Plenty to do there. Also, Omaha just opened 2 new indoor water park resorts.... might be fun if its cold out.

Eat a RUNZA! An original, regular Runza at one of the tons of Runza fast food places all over Omaha's area. Good, good stuff.
