Well we FINALLY made it up to Chickasha to try one of Paw Paw's famous Fried Onion Burgers.

Now we understand the difference (and rivalry ) between Paw Paw's and J&W Grill... BOTH are amazingly yummy and there is NO comparison! They are prepared completely different... 2 different burgers and both painfully good.

Paw Paw's has burgers in two sizes, small and large, based on the patty/bun size. Hubby had the large single, Son had the small double and I opted for the Chicago Foot-Long Dog. Both guys declared their Burgers in the top 5 of ALL burgers they have eaten. And both said the onions were sweet as candy.

Pretty good considering Hubby is from CA and Son has lived on the East AND West coast! My Chicago Foot-long had Mustard, Onions, Tomatoes and Cucumbers sprinkled with Celery salt.

Everyone was really friendly and the service was great... Drinks are refilled before you hit the bottom of the cup even if your mouth is too full to answer.

My Foot-Long:

Hubby's large single:

Son's "small" Double:

The big picture:

We left pleasantly stuffed with one lonely perfectly cooked Onion Ring left behind... Total for all that happiness?? $19.00 and change.

We'll be back!

I'll take the large double cheeseburger with all the fixings. And add an extra large order of fries to keep the onion rings company.

Oh, and a diet coke.

I'm so glad to hear that Paw Paw's is still there! I've wondered over the years since I went to college there in the late 80s.

I really love J&W Grill as well. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite.

Also, back in the day there was a doughnut shop called Tully's in Chickasha that was very good. They made these thin, crispy cinnamon roll type things called "Elephant Ears" that were astoundingly good, especialy if you got them fresh. Mmmm.
