From my general observations there seems to be more Sooner fans except maybe within a 30 mile radius of Stillwater. OKC is pretty one sided.

Actually there's a pretty sizable OSU alum presence in Tulsa County. But yeah, there seems to be more OU fans statewide.

I think it is closer than people think. The rural areas of Oklahoma have a whole lot of OSU fans. I think Tulsa is a mixed bag because you have to factor in Tulsa and Arkansas fans along with OU and OSU.

What does it matter? If you live in Oklahoma, you're usually for one or the other because of location or affiliation as either an alumnus or a person who takes pride in your state's teams. You don't have to be an alumnus to be a fan; look at those 85000 fans packed into the seats at Owen Field on any Saturday in the Fall and a good 75% of those people probably never attended OU. Football is passion in Oklahoma.

Since we are anticipating Anna going to OSU (not a final decision at all), we're weighing in on the side of the Cowboys. We're not pro football fans at all, but really enjoy the college/high school games.
