We are looking for family friendly activities in the Mahoning Valley/ Northeast Ohio. We have been in this area since late summer 2009. We have two children ages 9 and 5. We tend to visit the bowling alley or movie theater. But now that summer is coming we like to get outside and do something different. Can anyone give us some tips. We have visited some of the obvious places like Cleveland Zoo, Wagon Trails,Mill Creek Metro Park and Pro Football Hall of Fame. We are thinking of maybe some really nice parks within an hours drive or so or anything else that would be fun. Thanks!

Moraine State park would be a bit of a drive but a nice park to relax and hike in. Also have bicycle trails.

Kennywood Park West Mifflin, Pa.

Cook Forest. Canoe rental, camp, hike the fire trails, horse rental, feed the bears.

Beaver Creek State Park. It is in Columbiana County. Hiking, and exploring. Horse riding trails, but you need your own horses.

Canfield Fair. Six days long. Labor Day is the last day.

Hot Rod Super Nationals. This year is the end of June in Salem.

Salem Quaker City drag strip. Every weekend.

Rogers flea market. Every Friday. See weirdos, hillbillies, and freaks from every walk of life. You may even buy some good junk.

Just about every town has a festival, or street fair throughout the Summer.
