Plus 1.

I wonder who performed THIS "study"?

Personally, when I see anyone with a gun, I automatically feel nervous, not safe.

Fortunately, I have never seen one - in Ohio.

Here's the problem - it doesn't contradict common sense. Cheech14 is correct: the U.S. has, by far, the highest number of guns per capita in the world and is middling at best when it comes to violent crime among first-world nations. So common sense would actually dictate the exact opposite of what you think it does. But because of confirmation bias, you are not going to accept this conclusion.

Oh, please do regale us with those stories. I'm sure we'll all wait with baited breath.

There really is no such thing as "gun crime"...however, there are crimes like murder, assault, armed robbery that can be carried out with a gun, baseball bat, knife, etc...these crimes committed with the use of a firearm still dont make them gun centric, but it sure fits a narrative.

You've just very succinctly described one of the major problems of today's society: too many opinions, not enough research (facts) backing them up.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

The only way a people retain their power is when they are armed. Your defense is your responsibility, and it is the responsibility of the people to defend their rights, even from a tyrannical government. It's the entire basis behind the 2nd amendment. Ensuring the power remains with the people and the people have the ability to defend themselves, each other, their rights, their states, and their way of life. It ensures that if everything else fails, and a tyrannical despot comes to power somehow, the people retain the ability to deal with it.

Lots of mass stabbings or baseball bat beatings happening daily, are there?

Lack of prosecution of violent criminals, and many other socio-econimic issues leads to more crime, not guns. A gun is an inanimate object that could just as easily function as a paperweight. And that I disagree with you indicates no confirmation bias but it sure makes a nice straw man for you when I actually do disagree.
