Kent State is a better school overall than YSU.....but regarding the criminal justice degree, I think both schools are likely to have similar programs....as most criminal justice departments across the country are similar. I think it comes down to 2 things: a) where do think you want to work after graduation? If in the Youngstown area, go with YSU....if outside of Youngstown, go with KSU; and b) are you looking for the "full" college experience such as living on campus and/or joining a fraternity? If so, go to KSU.

Are you trying to compare the program at Kent Trumbull and YSU? I attended both schools for business and they both seemed pretty similar to me.

oh ok

after graduation, i want to move to texas. i actually wanted to transfer schools down south but i'll stay in ohio because of in state tuition. i don't really care about partying/ joining sororities or whatever, maybe because i'll be 24 next year which is when i want to transfer. i am shy but i hope and plan to be more social.

I'm sure the curriculum is pretty similar at both schools. Kent has a better reputation in the region, but I'd think the difference in reputation is pretty negligible on a national stage.

If you don't want to be at YSU anymore then transfer to Kent. Life's too short to be unhappy with where you are. It won't be that much more money to transfer to Kent. I actually turned down a full scholarship at YSU to go to Ohio University, and it was a great decision. I think residential colleges offer a much better experience than a commuter school. Plus, don't worry about being too old for a residential campus. One of my best friends in college was 24 when the rest of us were just turning 21. He transfered from a community college, got involved in some organizations in our major and fit right in.
