I’m looking for patient records. I had a relative who was a patient there according to 1930 & 1940 census. She died in 1971 at a Gallipolis hospital after an extended illness. Does anyone know if the records exist & how to obtain them?

I had a brother in Orient years ago and I still have nightmares about the place. My parents gave him up when I was 5. He was 4. He went somewhere for a short while and then to Orient. At Orient he was raped and had broken bones several times. He grew to hate men. He was non verbal so could not tell us what was going on but would cry when my parents would bring him back. I heard kids crying everytime we were in the room that families had to wait in for staff to bring them their family members. One time I snuck off to explore and saw a child in a straight jacket crying. I have such horrible memories of that place. My brother was moved to another facility years later where he spent the majority of his life. He was well cared for there until he passed away last year at the age of 60.

Does anyone still read this post and have information about Orient from 1945-1969?
