Hmmmm, just drive Kamahaha Highway someday. That alone should do it. Should we talk beach? Views? Strip malls? I can go on....

I'd rather live in Kaneohe than anything west of the airport.

Think Wrigleyville to Lincoln park - pacific heights to the sunset district, Malibu to Manhatten Beach - Manhatten to Queens.

Yep, those strip malls are just hideous, it might work if they were cleaned up a bit and if the businesses there were cool moms and pops type places with some character instead of disgusting chop suey restaurant, pawn shop, payday loan place or whatever, perhaps a butcher shop/delicatessen that sells the best corned beef in Hawaii or something like that, or an RC hobby shop (pretty much impossible now that everyone shops online, but a makerspace kind of place would be nice too).

I always get lost on Kamahama. Isn't that where they filmed the series?

No wonder they were lost

Only if they relied on iPhone spell check.

I did know this - it had a K - some A's - some H's - M's - forgot the E's - just didn't throw enough of them out there.

That's not a particularly convincing argument. If you knew anything about the original ahupuaʻa (land divisions that usually extend from the mountains to the sea) of Koʻolaupoko (Kualoa, Hakipuʻu, Waikāne, Waiāhole, Kaʻalaea, Waiheʻe, Kahaluʻu, Heʻeia, and Kāneʻohe), you'd realize that both Kaliua and Kāneʻohe have properties that possess beach access and "views." I driven on Kāneʻohe Bay Drive and it's not much different from Kalāheo Avenue.

It might be time for a new iPhone (or at least a firmware update) -- my iPhone has no problem spelling "Kamehameha Highway" and "Manhattan Beach."

I must set out for these elusive Kaneohe Beaches - except it is cloudy today. And since it is Kaneohe, it is probably raining anyway.

While might help if you have ties to the military, the beaches in Kāneʻohe aren't that "elusive." If you need help finding them, here are a few links…
Pyramid Rock Beach
Kāneʻohe Beach Park
Secret Island Beach

If I'm going all the way to Secret Island (which I go for birthdays, etc) I might as well keep driving to the North Shore - and if you go, bring an umbrella.

Is there actually a beach here? Honestly, have you really been??

Can't we go here instead?

Kalama Beach.

I've been and it's better than most of the "beaches" that we have in the Puna District on the Big Island. However, if I'm going to a beach in Kāneʻohe it going to be Pyramid Rock Beach (aka "Kūʻau").

Sure, as long as you know the folks whose backyard on Mahiloa Place that "Kalama Beach" pin is pointing to.

You might want to consider using the Google Maps app instead of Google Earth.
