Typically about 2 times a week I will see cops on the right side of the road on Fairfax Parkway right by the Dulles Toll Road pulling people over. Anybody have any idea what they are pulling people over for?

My guess is they are getting people with expired inspection stickers since traffic is so slow in that area but I'm not sure.

I've seen this before. I too think it's for expired inspection stickers. Makes sense given it's currently the beginning of the month. When I saw it happen late last summer there were two motorcycle cops and they were yelling at people to pull over. I had just moved here and it scared the you know what out of me!

You'll note they only do this on days with nice weather. Bet you didn't see them out there in February.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed that...was much more obvious when the weather was only nice once in a blue moon.

They're doing what we pay them for...enforcing the law. Keep your car stuff current and don't worry about 'em.

And if somebody is kicking your door in at 2:00 a.m., call 'em, and they'll be there, REGARDLESS of the weather.

It's not tag related. They signal people to pull over long before they could see tags. I am guessing it has something to do wih lane changing.

Whoa there Farva, grab yourself a donut and calm down.

I was just curious what they were looking for, didn't realize that was a problem. My stickers are current, that isn't the issue...I was just curious.

Well, slick, next time you should just pull over and ask 'em! And be sure to tell 'em a donut joke....they love a good donut joke!
