When looking at the map, it makes a big difference where your work address is for commuting purposes. If you are truly in central Mclean then you want to look North Arlington, West Falls Church. If you are going to be working in Tysons then you may be able to look at Vienna as well. Good luck, the prices for housing are shocking but the area is nice.

I know its still months away but I'm already excited/nervous about this move.
This is because No. VA is a highly evolved society that you cannot find anywhere else in the US, well maybe New York, New York.

You find all different kinds of people here. A little of everything. It's hard to pick out a dominant personality, but IMO you'll find a lot of highly educated people who are passionate (sometimes about a cause, or a field they're studying, or sometimes they're passionate about their jobs). Also, a lot of people who are not at all passionate (it's hip to be blase, you know). Plenty of people who are cocky, but lots of quiet, humble people too (you might need to look a little more closely to see them, but they're there).

I used to say we didn't have that many party animals, but according to the New York Times DC is now the hot city for night life. So I guess we have party animnals, too.

I am moving to work in McLean this next June, and I am from Texas. I'd love to know what you ended up doing because I need advice!
