Finally got confirmation yesterday and we now have a date.

We're packing it up and will be in VA April 19th.

Thanks to all-o-ya'll for your feedback on my endless traffic questions and where to live type questions.

We're narrowing it down to West Springfield, Burke or maybe even Alexandria or Annandale. That would really put me close to work because it looks like I'm going to be on the new US Coast Guard Project directly across the river from the ballpark.

The only thing that sucks is these areas all put us kinda far from my brother-in-law. We really want our kids to be close to each other but he's way out in Front Royal.

We'll hopefully land our place to live March 27th when we fly out for our house hunting trip.

Well, I don't know if you're happy or sad about it, so....

Congrats, if you are!

Condolences, if you ain't...

PS: Front Royal isn't far...well, maybe not daily, but weekly visits would be a piece of cake!

No, we're definitely happy about it.

Can't wait. I've lived in So Cal my whole life. 42 years old and I've never lived more than 10 miles from where I was born.

It's time for a change.

I hope you like it here! There's a lot of history all around this region, and we get a taste of all 4 seasons... although this year we got a XXL portion of winter
There lots to do & lots to see around here, just don't let the politics or the traffic get you down.

Congrats on your new move,Virginia is a great place to live and raise a family but thats not to say Virginia doesn't have its challanges. Burke and West Springfield have great neighborhoods and nice schools as well. Take your time and do your research throughly and you should find a great home, happy house hunting!

At this point in time it's going to be all about timing. We're trying to narrow down neighborhoods we think we want to live in and then just hope we can finalize an agreement in the 5 days we'll be there at the end of March. We have to because our stuff will be in a truck on it's way to VA 2 weeks after that.

I'm lucky enough to work for a company that really looks out for their people. Clark is assisting on a few levels of this relo. I'll need all the help they can give.

That's a great attitude! I had lived in the Seattle area for 30 yrs before moving here last summer. My husband and I were also ready for a change. So far so good.

If you like sports then we have that as well here in DC. Of course the only pro team that is competetive is the Capitals, but at least that keeps ticket prices down
