We are preparing our house for sale and it's time to replace the very old builder grade carpet in a few rooms. I'm looking for local carpet companies that sell carpet at reasonable prices. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a good deal on some simple beige carpet.

More importantly, I am looking for a good deal on installation and hauling away the old carpet. I've got several rooms, with a lot of furniture and don't want to be nickel and dimed over the labor charges.

I've used Kemper in the past. They were very good, but I was buying pretty pricey carpet at the time. Home Depot does $79 installation, but that doesn't include moving furniture or hauling away the old stuff.

Suggestions?

I used B&B Carpet in Springfield when I got my place. One of their clients is a large property management company (I can't remember the name), so they are used to putting in basic carpet to get a property rented or sold. Anyway, they pulled up the old carpet and padding, took it away, etc. It was a great price. Interestingly, they measured my place for the estimate and then when they installed the carpet, it was pretty close to pre-cut. They didn't mess up my newly painted walls at all. I got the standard "tea stain" beige. Best of luck to you!
