It would help to know what time you have to be there. If you're going in off hours then you're only 35 minutes away. Of course you need to take into account the time it takes to enter the gate. I would give yourself an hour to 75 minutes the first day to see what happens. Unless of course you're going in at 10AM or something like that.

Living North of Quantico would make for an easy commute.

I applied to teach school with DoDEA, at the Quantico site. Are the schools on base, or in the local town area? And what nearby town is the cheapest to live in for a divorced mother of 2? Is Southbridge a reasonable area?

Will you be working on the base, the cemetery, the FBI, or something else? The base will have a back-up at both gates. Not sure how long it takes to get through them, but you need to consider that if you will be working on the base.

It will be the elementary school for the military. Not sure if it's located on base or not. Some bases have their schools in the local areas, not necessarily on the military base. But if it is backed up at both ends, then I would have to leave home at 6:00am. And the homes/apts are incredibly expensive!!!!!!!
