While I'm in a photo-uploading mood I thought I'd also post some pictures I took while hiking/power-walking along Difficult Run Trail in Great Falls recently. This moderate trail runs along Difficult Run (as the name implies) northwards from Georgetown Pike to the Potomac River, offering those who brave the trail some gorgeous secluded vistas at the very end. Unfortunately I also noted a lot of garbage along the Potomac shoreline, so I may just head back there sometime soon with some trash bags and clean up after the pigs.

You're very welcome. That one photo a few images from the top that looks like it's just mud is actually supposed to show a butterfly near the center. It looks like it contracted its wings right as I snapped the image! It was truly beautiful.

These are beautiful. I think I'll add this place to our short list of day trips. Thanks for posting all these pictures!

The drive there (Georgetown Pike) is very scenic as well. Lots of woods and mansions.
