Security Systems (apartment, home, cheapest)

Hey all. I recently moved to an apartment near Pentagon City. The complex does not provide a security system and my home was just broken into a few weeks ago. I tried looking online and there's plenty of wireless systems but I do not know which one to choose. Anyone have any suggestions or have any experience with alarm systems that are good and won't require me to put a hole in my wall and wallet?

I am also going on same situation. That time i refer to SSS(Security Surveillance system). They provide me high resolution Security Cameras, alarm Security Systems with one year warranty.

We used Potomac Security, based on very high ratings in Consumers' Checkbook. We're very happy with it. It's basically one guy--Jeff Young (an electrical engineer), and he's very service-oriented. Probably not the cheapest, but he itemizes everything, doesn't try to upsell you at all, and he'll spend a lot of time talking over your options and making the system perfect for your needs. Like every other service, he requires you to use his monitoring service for the first year, but it's very reasonable--and very responsive. (I kept setting it off accidentally till we had him come back out and change a setting to accommodate my forgetfulness.)

Can you install the system yourself - then go to ebay

I used FrontPoint Security and have been pleased with the results. It is made for do it yourself installation and they have very good customer service. When I installed my system about eight months ago, they had consistently positive reviews.
