Finally! We get something (i think)

WASHINGTON — Blue Line riders will be the first to travel on the newest generation of Metro trains beginning next month.

Metro announced Thursday that the first train with eight of the new 7000-series rail cars will roll out about 7 a.m. April 14 from Franconia-Springfield then head to Largo Town Center.

I saw that. That's pretty sweet. Knowing Metro though, I wouldn't count my chicken before they hatch.

Only during the rush hours. Those who use any station past King Street are still stuck on the blue line on weekends and after hours.

That is true, but at those times, Blue Line trains are running at the same frequency as every other line except the Red Line, which runs a little more frequently during a few select periods.

Metro - Rail - Metrorail Frequency

I just saw the new trains doing a test run, I have to admit they look really nice. Here is to hoping they run as good as they look!

That's ONE new whole train on the entire Blue Line, though. You're more likely to win the Powerball than actually get a new train.
