Now I feel better lol. I pay $0 for gas and less than $100 for electricity.

I haven't looked at actual usage but we're on the budget plan - it'll be H*(* to pay/catch up at the end of the year this year I'm sure

I was a new Dominion customer so I had to pay a security deposit. It credited back last month, so covered my entire bill for November/December and all but $11 through the middle of January. We'll see what the next one looks like with the weather last week and this week.

Does anyone live in an apartment building where utilities are determined by a formula and not individual usage, and have seen your bills go way up in the past couple of months? I am trying to determine if it really is due to the winter bills just coming due or whether the management company is overcharging.

Man I feel for you guys. Since I've moved to San Diego my gas and heat bill for April - May was $35. Granted, I own a small 2 bed 2 bath house but I'm still shocked to see how much some of your utility costs are

Since I started this thread, I will just add that I subsequently found out (once I started using the a/c) that my refrigerant in my heat pump was low. Was probably part of the reason for my higher than ever electricity bills.

On days like today, the weather here reminds me a lot of San Diego. Too bad we only get a week or two of it a year unlike the 10 plus months of perfect weather you get in San Diego. That said, I enjoy the four seasons too. Having lived so many places, every climate has it's pluses and minuses, but if you want as many dry days in the low 70s as you can get with a gentle breeze (my personal definition of a perfect day of weather), I can think of no place that has more of that type of weather than coastal San Diego.
