Firstly, please excuse my ignorance. I'm still in the process of educating myself on this issue.

My mom just recently purchased a 2014 Nissan Versa. When I looked in the owner's manual, I noticed it suggested not to use oxygenated gas. WTF? It then went on to state that if you do use it, it should contain no more than 10% ethanol. I expect more out of a brand new car than to say not to even use oxygenated gas. I mean there are new cars that now use E15 gas and this brand new Nissan says not to use even E10. It's ridiculous.

Don't pretty much all gas stations in NoVa use 10% ethanol? My mom needs to get gas soon and she doesn't know where she should go. Her previous car had serious issues with using ethanol and it's partly why she needed a new car. So she wants to make sure she uses compatible gas.

I'm trying to figure out what 7-Eleven, Exxon, and Sheetz use in the NoVa area. I know they aren't pure gas, but I believe they are all E10 aren't they? My mom will probably fill up in the Manassas, Gainesville, Bristow area. She mainly uses 7-Eleven or Exxon and we believe there may be issues with their gas, but aren't sure.

I just wanted to see what other people thought or experienced.

My new Versa Note says the same thing. But the way I read it is to not put in gas more than 10% ethanol, meaning E10 is still okay (because it's at 10, but not more than 10), but don't put E15 in it.

E10 is okay, it's just anything over.

Anyway, the first place in Virginia that I've run into with "pure" gas is the Royal Farms in Harrisonburg.

Do they advertise it as "pure" gas"?

I've looked for places without ethanol, but I imagine (just guessing) most places get their gas from a few big distributors, so if it doesn't specifically say "ethanol free" or something, I'd assume it has ethanol.

No, they don't call it "pure" gas, but it is fairly well advertised on the pump and it says "No Ethanol" or something like that. It runs about 10 cents higher per gallon.

I've heard that it's really good to use in things like lawn mowers--makes the engine last longer. Usually when I'm down in Harrisonburg, I actually see a lot of people purchasing the No Ethanol gas.
