I used to go to DC to get non-ethanol gas, but that was 5 years ago and I assume it's pretty hard to find anything. I ended up buying a diesel so I don't have to worry about it anymore. Ethanol is a giant scam.

I believe there is one in Frederick county here in MD but that's too far and you really can't do anything about it since reducing oil consumption is the objective for the country. I understand that ethanol content in cars from the 60s-70s can ruin the components of the engine.

If it continues to be made out of corn, then yes it is a scam. I want my corn on my dinner plate, not in my fuel tank.

E10 is mandated in NoVa by federal regulation. It contains "up to" 10% ethanol, but typically more like 7-8%, and conceivably none at all. I can't imagine why anyone would actually be concerned about it.

ethanol is not good for gas engine, more expensive than gasoline in the US, it has less energy, lowers car's MPG and you can expect ethanol to cause engine starting problem especially if car is not used regularly.

Just as bad if not worse for smaller engines like motorcycles as well.

E10 has a slightly lower air-to-fuel requirement than pure gasoline. In the unlikely event that you have the sort of engine that could be affected by that, have the fuel mix adjusted. E10 cuts health, air quality, and other environmental cleanup costs. Those savings are offsetting. Kerosene has more BTU's than gasoline per unit volume. Put some of that in your tank. Meanwhile, E10 is approved and entirely suitable for use in all late models cars and other light-duty vehicles with no modifications to their engines or fuel systems.

Lol, you've been brain wash. Ethanol made from corn returns only 25% more energy than is consumed to make it. This means that each gallon of ethanol fuel is only 25% “renewable” energy (a 4:1 ratio). Ethanol production increases the price of corn used for food. Ethanol from corn appears to be “environmentally friendly,” but it is not. Brazilian cane ethanol yields 800% more energy than is consumed in its production (a 1:8 ratio), and is a much better alternative as a sustainable fuel.

No, I've just been around the block a time or two more than you have. Use of corn ethanol was easy to implement here and helps pave the way toward cellulosic ethanol. It meanwhile reduces petroleum use along with air quality and resulting health care problems and costs for some 75 million Americans. It also eats into the whopping subsidies that taxpayers have to shell out annually to major corn buyers. E10 is indistinguishable from gasoline in late model cars and light-utility vehicles. We are not Brazil and cannot magically transform ourselves into Brazil. The question here is whether we should produce and use E10 or not. Read that again. Those are the choices. You haven't made and don't have a case against E10.
