What is up with all the septic sewer systems in Great Falls. I am trying to find a large acre lot with public sewer. The closest area I am able to find is on the edge of the area that I don't want to be in. How is it that this area doesn't have public sewer??

Not sure - we lived on a septic system in Manassas (2.5 acres). I have *no idea* how any of that works - I know about the perc thing, etc. - but most people on acreage seem to be on a well.

Great Falls is almost like living in another world. The homes are largely owned by the very wealthy and to keep it so they don't have sewer systems, have very large lots, and pretty much restrict anything to keep others out. It's pretty amazing when you consider all the areas around there being heavily suburbanized.

True, but a lot of times builders are forced to create large lots because the properties don't "perc" - or they "perc" for 5 acres or 10 acres, etc. Don't you think Great Falls is amazing? They had that huge controversy several years ago because a farm was converted into a townhouse community, right? There were attempts to save the farm that failed, I guess. I don't know the story that well.
