Was wondering if someone could give an idea of commute time in driving from Aldie to:

- West Falls Church metro
- Tysons Corner metro (when it opens)

What would be the time that it really starts to back up badly from Aldie to these stations?

What would be the time that parking would be difficult to find?

I also read that there will be no parking facilities at the new Tysons Corner metro, so will commuters primarily use buses to get there? If so, are they close commuter buses to Aldie?

Thanks.

The Dulles South commuter bus leaves from Stone Ridge; it's about 45-60 minutes from there to the Rosslyn Metro, depending on departure time. Full schedule

So if one worked near the Farrugut West metro ... it would be best to take the bus from Stone Ridge to Rosslyn metro to teh Farrugut West station?

Oh, then I would stay on the bus until the 18th and K stop. It's about one hour on the earlier buses, one hour 20 minutes on the 7:35 and later buses.

When you say 18th and K, you mean DC proper and walk from there to G Street NW?

Doesnt seem so bad since I will probably be leaving the house around 6am.

yes, DC proper.

But keep in mind, the bus schedule isn't like the Metro schedule. It ends early. If you are someone that may need to work late on occasion, the schedule will be difficult. The last busses out of the city back to Stone Ridge leave a little after 6.

It stops at 18th and G. See the full schedule. But as spencgr pointed out, you would have to leave work by 6.

I'm glad someone knows some information about this commuter bus. I may be using it in the near future. Do the buses fill up pretty fast or is there usually enough space?
I am thinking about taking the 206 at 0658 into Rosslyn Metro.

ah..wish I could help. The commuter bus is nice, but doesn't go close to my area in DC. I drive in every day.

I'm bumping this in hopes of getting my questions answered.

I got a position in Arlington and I will be using the Loudoun County Transit bus to go from the Stone Ridge stop to Rosslyn Metro.

My questions are:
1) Do the busses fill up quickly or will I risk not making the bus I decide to take? I'm not concerned about sitting or standing. I just don't want to miss a bus because it is full and not get to work on time.
2) Are they usually on time at pick up and drop off?

Thanks.
