By that point, especially on Fridays that is actually the direction of traffic and rush hour actually starts close to that time. The commute shouldn't be bad though.

Thanks! Any apartments you might recommend in the area?

How many bedrooms/bathrooms?
What is your preferred budget?

Unless you have a desire to be at somewhat of a "midpoint" between Fredericksburg and DC, life would be easier for you if looked in Fredericksburg.

1bd/1ba and around 700-1000/month. Id like it to be as close to downtown as possible and dog friendly :/ . Im having a hard time finding something.

I admit that I don't have specific recommendations although you should be prepared to look at properties towards the upper end of your budget.

When you say close to "downtown", which city or town do you mean? None of the towns mentioned in this thread - save perhaps Lorton's compact Town Center area - really has a defined downtown. If you mean close to DC, then Lorton is the closest by default as it's the furthest north of the five towns discussed here.

going to be hard unfortunately.. in that price range, you might get a basement in eastern PWC, but hard to say whether a dog will be easy to accommodate.

otherwise, a 1/1 may pop up here or there, but you'll be at the mercy of the location, as the closer to downtown you get (assuming you mean DC), the higher the rent typically.

If you are essentially looking for apartments in Fredericksburg, I would strongly suggest starting a new thread asking about that. Fredericksburg is very affordable by Northern Virginia standards; it is IMO not worth trekking down from any of the towns discussed in this thread.
