Hello all,

I am thinking of renting a short term furnished apartment in Fair Lakes while I look for something to buy. I am concerned about the length and difficulty of the commute into DC.

I know there is a community-organized shuttle bus to the Vienna metro but as I sometimes work late hours I am just wondering if there are other commuting options. For instance, to drive to a park and ride, catch a bus that connects into the orange line, and that bus runs past rush hour. Alternatively, if I elected to drive to say, Ballston (where I have parking), how long would that take via either 1-66 or Rt 50 if I left at 6:45 am?

there is a commuter connection program that might work for you. sometimes they set you up with people for carpooling, and I think there is a guaranteed ride home program?
