Probably, since a good portion of Maryland cheers for the Ravens.

Many Baltimore Colts fans got pissed when the Colts up and left in the middle of the night in 1982 and switched over to the Redskins. I don't know how many of them switched back when the Browns moved to Baltimore. I imagine in the beginning not too many, but when the Browns started winning, more moved over. I'm sorry, did I say Cleveland Browns, I meant "ravens", sure whatever

Since so many people in this area are transplants I would say that you actually have more non-Redskins fans than actual skins fans especially compared to an "all one team" city like Pittsburgh, Dallas, etc.

A lot of people follow the Skins because they are the local team (and are getting better) and certainly there are many die hard lifelong Skin fans in the area as well. I do agree that there should be more Skins in NOVA as VA has no NFL teams while Maryland has the Ravens (sort of a state pride thing I guess).

I'd bet there are more in Virginia. There are a lot of them in Maryland but not in Baltimore and its suburbs (especially the northern and eastern ones). Redskins fans are pretty thick throughout all of Virginia including Richmond and Hampton Roads/Norfolk/Virginia Beach.

But for just Northern Virginia maybe not. Depends on what is considered Northern VA. If just Arl/Alex/Ffx/PW/Loudoun, then maybe more in Maryland.

Yes, I think there are more Skins fans in NOVA than MD simply b/c of the Ravens.

Howard, Frederick, and Anne Arundel are probably close to 50/50 Ravens/Skins. North of that, Ravens, south of that more Redskins although many in the DC metro will bring their teams home with them.

I understand some older African-Americans will cheer for the Cowboys because of George P. Marshall -- the 'Skins were the last team in the NFL to integrate and Marshall was particularly racist.

With that said, how many other teams have had sellouts since 1968?

There seem to be more Steelers fans in NoVA than Redskins fans.

there seems to be Steeler fans wherever I go, east coast, west coast, midwest, I see Steeler bumper stickers, t-shirts everywhere I go, what is up with that? It's like people from Pittsburgh can't wait to leave Pittsburgh the first chance they get, but they're still Steeler fans
