Interesting article in today's Post: Fairfax County, Falls Church at odds over water service - The Washington Post

My question is: can I switch from Falls Church Water to Fairfax County Water? I live in the 22031 zip code with a Fairfax address, but I've been a Falls Church Water customer all this time. Why does Falls Church Water service me when I live in Fairfax?

I used to live in Falls Church (22043 - FFX County) and had Falls Church Water service there too...that one I can understand. But I'd like the option to switch to Fairfax Water if possible.

Good to know that I've been contributing to the Falls Church general fund for the past 13 years!

Here's some of the history behind the Falls Church service areas.

There has been drama in Loudoun County involving Leesburg Water customers who live outside the town limits being charged higher rates than "in-town" residents.

According to this article, 90% of Falls Church Water customers live in Fairfax County(!). I'm one of them and have no choice, as far as I know:

Yep...I decided to call Fairfax County Water on my lunch break today and they confirmed there's nothing I can do...I'm stuck w/ Falls Church water.
