any recommendations of a salon or stylist who is good with curly hair? My daughter needs a back to school cut and her normal stylist at Modern Concepts in Ashburn is booked for weeks. Any other suggestions? We are in western Loudoun but I'd travel to find someone good with curls (and kids).

I have naturally curly hair. I see Olivia at PR Partners in Gainesville (Atlas Walk). I've been beyond thrilled with my experiences with her!

But I don't know how old your daughter is, or how Olivia is with kids.

I love Salon Nordine in Reston but I don't know if they take kids. I don't think I have seen any (except for one waiting with her mother) but I have crazy curly hair and their stylists do a great job and I have yet to be disappointed. It is pricey but I expect any salon selling Kerastase to be that way and I will pay anything for someone not to mess up my curly hair. I have too many bad stories!

It would be worth calling them. If anything, they can refer you to another salon or their stylists may be willing to work with you.

Good Luck! Curly Hair specialists are so hard to find but I hope you find a couple options!

I have horrible curly hair and have had two really good stylists in this area:

Dawn Farrell at Frizzles in Springfield - she was once in a Washingtonian story about curly hair stylists.

Traci at Salon Nordine in Gainesville - not a curly hair specialist, but I've been going there for a while and she is just very good all around.

Has anyone ever heard of Devachan Salon? They are based out of NY such as SOHO locations and White Plains, but it's WORTH the trip! They are known for their dry hair cutting skills and brilliant hair color technique called Pintura! I love this salon! I also work there. So please feel free to look us up at several different sites such as DevachanSalon.com, mydevacurl.com also youtube us and go on Facebook and friend us at Deva Curl page!

xoxo
Curly forever!,
Meg
