I think the bigger issue would be driving to the Vienna Metro station early enough to get a parking spot.

Thanks for the replies but assume I will be in a community shuttle to Vienna so parking there is not the issue.

I'd guesstimate 30 - 40 minutes for the shuttle and 30 - 40 minutes for the Metro. Add in time for rain and special events.

Just curious, do you know the community actually has their own shuttle or are they referring to the metrobus as their shuttle? The apartments I looked at around that area would say they had a shuttle to the metro and none actually had their own. They just had a bus stop near their complex. Now I only looked at 5 complexes, so I may have just looked at the only 5 like that.

the one's i have searched mention they do have a shuttle...i haven't gone to the communities to verify though. i'm glad you mentioned it so i can make sure it's not the metrobus. thanks.
