Can anyone recommend a good steam cleaning company for carpets?

Also, do they just use "steam" or do they use some sort of soap mixture as well?

Thanks!

My neighbors recently used Stanley Steemer. Another friend just used Carpet Keepers. I think Carpet Keepers is like an organic kinda place. When I was selling my home I was going to use Stanley...They seemed to have good prices and a good reputation in the neighborhood.

I used to use local cleaners but ended up using Stanley Steamer the last few times. I believe they do use a solution (but no shampooing). I like them because their rates are comparable, they are on time, they are quick, and their truck mounted vacuum leaves the carpets reasonably damp when they are done.

I used AstroBrite and was very unhappy with the result. Within a day or so after the job all of the stains I had shown them were back again and the carpet looked the same as it had after having it done. Not impressed since it cost me $800!

We had a good experience with Servicemaster.
