I used to speak a little, but with the passing of my grandparents it wasnt used and lost.. This area is still somewhat ethnically grouped, there is a big Polish community in and around Duryea. also a few good groceries ..Kutsops in Olyphant being one of them, also the Eynon Flea Mkt has a food stand Irenas... good homemade Polish cooking, and she speaks the language. I suggest stopping there and asking her where she goes...and trying some of her food!!

There is an extremely closeknit, large Polish population in Plains, right outside of Wilkes-Barre. DM for more info!

Thank you so much for the suggestions I'm not very familiar with Duryea. I don't believe I've ever been there. I have been in Kutspos about two years ago, and I've only been at the Eynon Flea Market once three years ago. I was never aware of, nor have I took notice of the food stand Irenas., but I will surely make it a point to check it out.,and hopefully converse with her

lol Thank you for the directions, and the mentioning of the church! Ducks blood soup was my dads favorite! I've never actually tried it.(and considering I don't eat meat atm,I don't think I ever will) My grandmothers sister lived on a farm in poland year's ago,and she used to make it for my dad when he was alive. My mom used to tell me,that one time he asked if he could "finish" the rest of the soup, and turns out he ate half the pot!

A Russian/Polish restaurant just opened on the Pittston Bypass near the light at William St. I'm curious to try it!

eek really? do you happen to know the name of it? I actually have never ben to a polish restaurant in the area. i even did a google search for the scranton area, and i only happened upon one that i wasn't familiar with. (it's too bad that philly, nyc, new jersey, and chicago aren't more conveniently located)
