I’ve been monitoring this site every few weeks for over a year now. I’ve found a lot of good information and advice. Thanks all ! Now, I’ve some questions to ask.

I’ve had a vacation home in Lake Wallenpaupack area for nearly 30 years. Love it there. Hoping to move and partially retire within the next year. My concern is my 2 sons (22 & 19). The older one may /may not move with me - however it will be a struggle for him in NJ. The younger one has some mild cognitive issues so he will have to move. He has been working as a plumber’s helper for the past 9 months.

Does anyone have any idea what his chances are of finding work in the Wallenpaupack area? And while I’m asking - the older son is an auto mechanic - 3 years exp. What might be his prospects? Also what could they expect as an hourly rate?

Appreciate any advice/opinions. Thanks!

They may both have to drive a bit, but I do not think work
would be hard for them to find.

How about trying to get a job in one of the school districts or at a resort.

Thanks Scrantonluna and LIMAMA4 --I'll be up at the Lake during July 4th week and am thinking of stopping in some businesses and asking a few questions.

I think it helps if you "know someone" that would be willing to take them on. We found it a challenge to find work around here. My husband was a Lexus Technician for years in NYC. He had all his cert, etc. but when he came here to PA they wanted to pay him like $10 an hour! We were NOT expecting NYC salaries of COURSE! But that was ridiculous!
