Good Day I am planning to go out to the Belcourt area sometime this year to check it out

what is the IT Job market like in North Dakota? I have done some looking on Dice, Monster, etc.

but would love to get some input from people who live in North Dakota, I live in New York right now and have work in the IT field since 1999

not a programmer I am a Network/System engineer, Network/System Administrator , desktop support, break/fix, Telco, etc

Have great work history in the field, but maybe looking for a change

so please if you can give me an idea of the market

thanks all and a great day

But why Belcourt I guess, any reason you picked that town....it is a town of 2k on the Turtle Mountain Reservation... But even if your Native American town and area is too small to support any IT jobs.

I would definitely look at the larger cities, Grand Forks, Fargo, Bismarck, Minot....Maybe Williston, Jamestown and Dickinson. We had someone move into where I work in Grand Forks and did get an IT job with the city of Grand Forks. Fargo has Microsoft, North Dakota State Univ and healthcare and overall a much larger population and thus more job opportunities as a whole. Bismarck is the government city and Grand Forks University of North Dakota.

So I would start looking at Fargo first, then branch out from there to see how it is. Minneapolis/St Paul attracts may UND grads for its obvious larger job market in specialized fields.
