I recently began collecting unemployment benefits from a regular job. I now have been offered temporary work as an independent contractor on a W-9 for 2 to 3 months.

When this ends, will I still be eligible to collect benefits from my original claim? Or can I start a new one, then?

Should I continue to certify and list my pay each week?

I've never worked in this way before so I don't know how it works.

Also, I received a letter called an eligibility review notice. Do I answer that I have a full time job now, even though it's a temporary/contract gig?

Thanks for any help!

This may be different, as I drew unemployment several years ago in another state, but I was told by the unemployment office if I received a temporary work assignment that I needed to contact the unemployment office and suspend my eligibility for the duration of time I would be working. Then, once the assignment was complete, I could resume my claim.
