My husband, two kids and I may be relocating to North Carolina from California. My husband may have a job oppurtunity that will take us out of Southern California and move us to North Carolina. We don't know too much about NC, but everyone we talk to has said such wonderful things about NC. Can anyone suggest a great city/neighborhood to raise kids in NC. We would prefer to live in a neighborhood that has a lot of other kids, safe area of course, good schools, churches, and has that community feel.

There are literally thousands of great neighborhoods in NC. If you can narrow things down a bit, we could be of more help. First, if you haven't already, please search this forum--you'll find many other similar threads that can answer many of your questions. Second, what are your criteria? Do you want a big city, a small town, a rural area, mountains, coast, lakes, easy airport access--where do you want to be? Uptown, downtown, suburbs, condos, planned developments--what type of neighborhood do you want and what is your budget? NC is a big state with lots of great places to live!

I would start by letting us know what area your husband will be working in,that might help decide by trying to stay close to where he works.Nobody likes the 77 commute if you can at least semi avoid it.
I agree with the previous poster narrow it down, then we can add input. But yes, many great places to live.I come from Northern California, it can be different in the South but so far so good

Yes, as the others have said, we need to know where the job is going to be before we can narrow it down--imagine someone asking "where are good cities/neighborhoods in California?" !
